Nightforce ring level.

I use the Nightforce ring levels on my prairie dog guns, and really like them. I shoot from a rotary bench and it is the first place I look as I place my head behind the scope. Keeping level is important on those longer shots.

Here is my installation, it does not block view of the elevation lines.

Darwin: what rings and scope are you using?

Thanks for the insight. I’m looking at a pair of NF 4-32ff. XTRM Unimounts, 1.5 high and three NF bases so can move them around a bit. Haven’t changed my mind for a week so I think that’s it.

I disagree. Cheap levels have bubble separation under recoil and they may not be as sensitive to cant.
I must have good cheapies if there is such a thing few years ago while I was running my 7mm Remington Magnum I ran two cheapies and one US optics and they all read the same never had a problem with the bubbles separating now run the cheap ones on all my long rifles and do not have a problem all the way out to a mile

One potential issue with a rear scope ring bubble level is close-in vision. If you badly need strong reading glasses to see anything up close (I do), it can sometimes be difficult to visualize the bubble while shooting. If not, it should work just fine.

I’d be looking through the wrong side of my progressives. Dropping Nightforce money for something I couldn’t see would have hurt. Thanks Ned.

All that need be done is check whether you can focus on the back of the ring/mount when you're in shooting position behind the rifle. If you can't (i.e. it's too close), it may be an issue seeing the bubble easily. There are certainly other good options. Good luck with it!
