Nightforce Question

I recently bought a used Nightforce 3 x 15 x 50 for a great price. I couldn't find anything wrong with it until I tried to set the windage to zero. The set screw has been turned in to the point that the brass (assuming it's brass) erector post has dimples in it. So as you tighten the set screw the dimple will cause the cap to move about a 1/2 click off of zero.

I think I have three choices. Use it like it is, send it back to NF, or last try to polish the dimple down.

Which choice should I use?

I would send it back for a full check up and to fix your issue....Being used and for a "great price" you don't want to find any new surprises on your own.

Without a doubt. About every 5000 rounds I send mine back to NF for a checkup. It usually cost $70 for the hour and they give it the full run down. JMO

Thanks Eternal. I am resigned to sending it back. They will have to do something to the posts I am sure, so I hope I can get by for $70 or so. I really like the scope.
