Nice coyote

My wife has a late bull elk tag in a good unit in Arizona. Season started Friday and we’re putting some serious miles in and lots of hours glassing. Seen a lot of game, my oldest daughter has that tag too, she had four bulls at just over 800 yards yesterday, tried to get closer and another hunter spooked them. We’re back at come 4am, odds are good they will fill their tags - but hunting is hunting.

My wife connected on a nice yote today, she was quick too. Center punched him at 170 yards, 127 grain LRX. She’s 5’10” for reference.

Lucky getting to see a bull. Never saw one on my daughter's hunt. Got her on a cow but she wante a bull.

She almost connected on a 360 class bull today, just happened too fast. She’s not hunting horns, it’s just the bull we stumbled on today, he was still with 20+ cows and bailed off into a canyon before she could pull the trigger at 75 yards, had him in the scope but couldn’t get him centered.

Arizona stiffened the lion regulations. So far on this trip we have come across 11 different lion tracks in areas miles apart. The first two days had a dusting off snow and it was cold enough the snow stuck around most the day, made seeing tracks easy. Today we hunted lower country, no snow and still found three more lion tracks in the soft sandy dirt. I hate seeing so many lions in the area, neat animals but hell on deer and elk populations.

Im going back up to 17A this weekend trying to fill my daughters tag. She now said she wil take any elk she sees. Hunt ends on the 14th so this is our last shot for us.
