I looked thru one at the super shoot nightforce gave a couple away and had one setup on a tripod.
The optics were incredible. It was brighter and a little clearer than my March 40x
I don't know how they are performing as far as holding poi.
The mechanism for holding the internal tube in place is different than the 12-42 or 15-55. The 42 does not have the coil spring assemble coming out of the scope. I asked the guy what the design was. He said it had titanium leaf spring. I believe they had to do something other than the coil spring due to weight as well

That said, if your 2013 is working...
Ya if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I have a 2013 model on my dedicated 200-300 yard rifle and it works flawlessly. Dean has 2 2013 models and he sent both of them back to NF to have the reticles changed to a .925 dot. I don't like my 1/8 dot, but spending 450 bucks to have the reticle changed is way too steep in my opinion. March only charges $325.00 to do the same.Valid point, same point my buddies keep telling me. The 2013 is working great its rock solid for target use. This is what happens when the season draws to an end, I use the down time to tweek things. Streamline my set up. Admittedly over think things sometimes.
Just something I was kicking around.
Im still trying to decide what scope to pickup for PRS shoots. Somthing I'd like to get into. ATACR vs VortexHD. Nightforce being my first pick based on how solid the Competiton has been for me.
