Next best trimmer under Giraud

I need a precision case trimmer for 6.5creedmoor, .308win, and .223rem. I have looked at the powered Giraud, but it's pretty expensive, especially buying separate tools for the different calibers.

I thought I had found the bee's knees when I saw the Giraud Tri-way, but I spoke with Doug Giraud today, and he doesn't have it for 6.5CM and said he wouldn't anytime soon.

So, is there another trimmer that trims, deburrs, and chamfers all in one step, that also contains the brass shavings? (I hate the mess that some trimmers make.)

If not, what do you consider the next best thing?

It's not high end and it doesn't contain the shavings, but I have the WFT from Little Crow Gunworks in all calibers I shoot. It works great for my purposes.

But does it trim, chamfer and deburr all in one step?

Not really. Its so easy to use though that I go through and trim all my cases every reload. Some obviously won't need it and it won't get trimmed, but its faster than measuring each case. I run them through the RCBS case prep station afterwards for primer pocket cleaning/chamfer/deburr. I usually load in batched of 250 so it's going to be a process no matter what I do.

If you're gonna compare a Giraud Trimmer, you compare it to every other trimmer ever made... that wasn't made by Giraud.

..with respect to QT.

Though it doesn't chamfer and de-burr, the PMA Micro Trimmer is a jewel.

I have a couple of the giraud tri way trimmers. Great trimmers

Bought the PMA tools trimmer because i have too many different cartridges. This thing is awesome. If used correctly it is very accurate. Several ways to set it.up. fast trimmer painless. I can't say enough good stuff about it. Sent some fired and resized cases from one of.my wildcats and in a couple of weeks i had a collet that worked perfectly.

So what if you have to chamfer and debur in another step. If you use the shellholder in a drill method then all you do is use your deburring tool before you change the case.

That's exactly it. It's another step.

If you're fine with it more power to you. I would get a triway in each caliber you can because the time savings do add up to me.

I love the idea of the Tri Way. I don't understand why he won't make one in 6.5CM. I don't understand it at all.

It does not contain the shavings but the Forster 3 in 1 trimmer will perform trim, ID chamfere, OD debur simultaneously. I have not used it personally but saw it used and it is a very fast process. MUCH cheaper than a Giraud. I use a Giraud myself but if they did not exist, I would use the 3 in 1. I had a WFT but only used it to shorten a .308 case before final sizing into a Creedmoor case. It worked well for cutting .1" or so off a neck quickly.

I just bought a Trim It II a couple weeks ago and love it. It trims, chamfer's and debur's in one operation.
It takes quite awhile to get set up to cut perfect but it doe's wonderful job. I was looking at the Giraud but it was way to pricey for me. I don't understand why he won't make the case holder for the cheaper Tri way, since he makes them for the high end one.
I have the new issue of Precision Riflemen and they have an ad on the back cover for the Trim It for $132.50. I bought mine on the bay and paid a lot more for it.
I shoot and use it only for the 6PPC.

I found this trimmer doing a search on here. Someone had a article that compared the 3 trimmers.

Hope this helps

Have you looked at thevGracey trimmers?

I use the Forster power trimmer with their 3-way cutter in a Craftsman drill press. Does a nice job for me and I can do 600 cases per hour.
