My kids bought me a close-out Newcon 1500 rangefinder from Bullets.com ($225)

i just took a ride thru the valley and in blustery rainy low-light NY in December, I had no issue getting readings on fenceposts (known distances) to 850 yards. I did not ry any longer measurements, because these distances are known to me and I was checking it out for accuracy. VERY happy especially at that price point. I am very pleased.

I guess you deserve a MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU. Sounds like you have good kids, that is a nice gesture. One year back 25 years my ex bought me a complete Dillon 550b and it gets plenty of use today. Snert where is the newcon made?

I believe they are made in Canada, and they really are one hell of a range finder...

Yes, Canada...and while mine feels a bit bulky and heavy, it is ranging VERY well. It does not have a precise "aiming" point like the Leica little red box, but after a little practice it certainly seems to be doing the job for shooting woodchucks to 8-900 yards, which is all I will ever need.

I am VERY pleased with it. Glad I waited and can't believe the discount price. it must have been NOS becuase the manufacture date is late 2012...but it was never opened and it is perfect for my needs.
