Newby tube gun questions

I am completely new to this form of shooting, I would be interested in the tube gun and would like to build one. I have been shooting service rifle and long range hunting rifles for a number of years mainly 308 cal.
Here are some questions I have for the 308 tube gun.
What is the average weight of these rifles?
What would be the best tube gun kit to buy for the 308 cal and why? [repeater only]
Is it possible to keep the rifle weights below 13-14 lbs and still achieve good accuracy to 800 yds?
What are most complete kits worth less barrel,action and sights?
I apologize if these questions have been answered elsewhere, and also for typing errors[two fingers and i still hit to many keys.

I have been waiting on a Elesio S1 since January 2009. Gary just called me and it is on its way. I will have it up and shooting in a week or so. Pictures of the rifle and targets are coming.

Use the search function on the various shooting forums, and search on Google. There's lots of info out there.

As to weight, it depends on the barrel, of course.

There are two basic tube gun kits. The MAK which epoxies the action in:

And the Eliseo:
http://www.competitionshootingstuff.com/ in which the action is removable.

An R5 with a 28' light Palma taper barrel is probably right around 13 lbs. I've never weighed mine. It will shoot 1,000 fine.

Note the long action RT10 in guns of the week is right at 15lbs with a heavy MTU contour.

Thank you folks for the information. I do like the looks of the Eliseo better than the MAK. Having one in hand to shoulder would make up my mind rather quickly.
Are there any Canadian shooters on the forum using either rifle. I would like to know if they found a source in Canada for the kits. It would make the transaction that much simpler.

Availability of the Elesio build is not that far off, if you wish I can supply you with a complete rifle in about 60 days or so.
Paper work could take this much time. However, the State Dept. in the US has been processing papers quit fast.

As always. getting a barrel of your choice can be a challenge some times.

Give a ring and we can have a chat and figure out the time frame.

If you choose the Mac, a great build as well, I can make it happen.Keep in mind, the build would be with an action I manufactor for the tube gun.
