Just wanted to say hello. New to long range shooting. Have a Rem 700 sps/26" barrel that I would like to get to 1000 yards. I'm at 550 right now.
Also have a question. Am I going to have to type the letters & answer the questions every time I post??

The security is only for a little while, then you can click the "Stay logged on forever" button, and you are automatically logged on when you open the website.

Welcome BW. I had the same question about the security questions but the issue went away before I got around to posting a ? about it. Obviously it will clear after a specified number of posts.

I read it as consistent 7.5" groups at 300. It does say 5/8 of a foot.

If you shot 5/8" groups at 100 yards, we'd think you had a heck of a factory rifle, were a heck of a reloader and a heck of a shooter.

At 300? That's 0.2 MOA.

You stated that you can consistently shoot 5/8ths at 300. Then you show us your "best so far" at 300 and they look like 1 1/4 inch groups. Now, "constant 5/8ths at 300" and 1/1/4 "best so far" are MILES APART.

There is nothing wrong with 1 1/4 inch at 300...ESPECISALY from a factory gun. That is some fine shooting!!!

You are posting on a website LOADED with the top shooters on the planet. If there is some BS floating around on a thread....the BS detectors will be sounding off like crazy.....don't take offence. Once in a while someone will post some load data that is obviously wrong...and then get ticked off when the guys correct or question the data. You never know when someone will take that data and try and reproduce it at the loading bench and blow the $H!T out of himself. Don't kid youself...it happens. We are just protecting the integrity of this forum.

So...put your big boy pants on..... and welcome to the best of the best!!! We were ALL new here once, and we were ALL new to loading once upon a time.
