newbie checking in

just registered this morning - have been prowling the site for a while.

I consider myself a "shooter" - got started with one rifle and factory ammo going after South Dakota prairie dogs 15 yrs ago and have slid down the slippery slope ever since. Still enjoy prairie doggin' but also love to chase pheasants on opening weekend in SD, coyotes in the Sandhills of NE over the winter, deer - also in the Sandhills of NE in the fall. Recently my 12 yr old competed on a trap team, so he and I are shooting a couple rounds a week to keep him in practice and give me a chance to pull the trigger a few times.

I'm the same joeniv as on several other boards and forums.

stay away from the trapshooting. It can be like a crack rock to a junkie. It took me 30 years to break the habit. I have been clean and sober for 7 years now.
