Folks, your donations do make a difference. We apply donations directly to server costs and related IT expenses. We now have five servers running AccurateShooter.com (and our legacy 6mmBR.com site), including two expensive, multi-processor, dedicated systems. That helps keep the site running fast and secure... but it's not cheap.
People may think "Oh, someone else will kick in". Will they? In fact, we received fewer donations in 2014 than in 2013, even though we gained thousands of new forum members.
How many people donate? In the last quarter of 2014, we had about 140 donations and 3/4 of those were from folks who had already donated in previous years. Roughly 1% of Forum members donate each year. If that number were higher -- a lot higher -- everyone would benefit, because we could do more tests and provide more services to our readers.
So, if you've been buying and selling stuff on this site, you may want to consider donating a few dollars.
Consider this -- if you sold a $3000 rifle on Gunbroker, you would be charged over $50.00 in transaction fees. Yep... fifty bucks to sell one gun. Our AccurateShooter Classifieds are FREE, but the only way we can maintain free listings is though the support of Forum members who are willing to donate to the site.

Gents I don't think I bought or sold anything here, at least nothing expensive, but I have gained invaluable knowledge, and have passed on the very little I know, this site more than any other I am part of is a real knowledge sharing community, in the Old Americana tradition. Hell, now I sound like a PBS schlep begging for funds, hehehe, just do what ya can gents.

1% of members donated last year. Last quarter 3/4 were repeat donator's. Seems embarrassing for the quality and quantity of info that this site provides. (Don't wish to go into the FREE classifieds as that should be self evident to all users).
Is there another site where one could pose a question and receive multiple reliable responses in a short period of time at a cost of zero? And a site that is moderated to the extent that the 'wheels come off' just now and then? And where the site is not 'down' numerous times?
The numbers clearly point to a fact that a VERY few members consider this ability worthwhile enough to voluntarily contribute a few bucks a year. If I learned ONLY 10 new facts over one year it's a dollar an answer at the minimum contribution rate. In reality the amount of questions answered and help received FAR exceeds that.
Also, I probably meet at least 10 members a year who I continue to correspond with and whom I would never have met had it not been for this site. To me that's priceless.

I live in new york state,how unfortunate !
Just donated again! I would love to see some others step up to the plate. A measly 10.00 a couple times a year wont hurt anyones pocket book so to speak.
