New toy.

May not be a big deal to you but it is to me. Nice thing is it came with flip caps. Even way more nicer is the windage knob. Sightron finally got the message and did a right and left turret. My 6BR is going to be so happy.

About the only thing less than ideal about that scope is the 50 minutes of total elevation (25 usable). Even the 34mm (SVSS)big brother only has 70 total minutes (35 usable). Just purchased this same scope here in the classifieds only the zero stop (2019) model. Haven't received it yet but look forward to mounting it and getting it out on the range.

Mounted on a 20 MOA rail, a scope with 50 MOA total elevation travel will have plenty of travel with most common calibers to dial up for 1000 yd or slightly beyond. It shouldn't be a deal breaker.

Congrats on the new scope - enjoy it!

A nf br model wont go to 100yds with a 20moa rail on a 6br and i think it has even more adjustment than that

The NF 12-42x56 BR scope only has 40 MOA total elevation/windage travel. I have several NF 12-42x56 NXS scopes that have 45 MOA elevation travel and zeroing at 100 yd with loads that have comparable ballistics to the 6BR with 105s is not a problem. I'd imagine with the Sightron having 50 MOA total elevation travel, zeroing at 100 yd shouldn't be an issue either.

Well I'll find out this weekend. With the erector centered I'll mount it on my 20 moa rail. With a quick boresight and fine tune a 200 zero I'll keep track of how many moa I've used. Then I'll know. Yeh?

I attempted to bed my 20moa rail, with this scope on an r700. At the range it was punching HIGH at 100yds. Redid the job, has more than enough elevation for a .223 dialing too 800yds. I really like my SIII 10-50.

Hey Dusty. I think you mean 1000. So how many moa low is a 6br at 1000. I was trying to figure that out on my ballistic ae app.
I have a Sightron 8-32 it has iirc 70 minutes. With a 300 yard zero I get to a thousand yards at 25 minutes and still near optical center. With out a canted rail

I've been known to use the Burris inserts getting the hairs on at 100 in the bottom 20% of travel gaining the remaining 80% +/- in elevation.
Orrrr, if you have elevation hashes, use'm for the point blank shots.
Please correct me if I'm wrong - if there is less erector tube travel, same body diameters for comparison, will that not usually result in the tube being larger? Therefore larger lenses/more light gathering?

Update, so the suspense was killing me and I couldn't wait till the weekend. Yesterday evening i mounted it. 20 moa rail. A quick boresight at 25y, cranked down 16 moa. One shot at 50y, come down one more moa. Move target to 200y. One shot, come down .75 moa. Shot a group, 1/4" high. That's a total of 17.75 down. So I now have 42.75 moa of elevation. My come up for 600 is roughly 12 moa and 1000 is 32 moa. So at 600 I'll be roughly 6 moa below center and at 1000 I'll be roughly 10 moa above center. BTY I came a total of .75 moa right. 6pm temp was 101.

What rings do you have on the rifle ? Also what barrel contour ? Sounds like your saying you'll have 15 minutes of elevation left at 1000 yards ???

savage varmint .800 at muzzle. Badger high I think. I'll check tonight. Scope fit with 1/8 ish space left with caps. Again I'll check the ring height and let you know.

Appreciate it. I have the same scope, barrel and a 20 moa rail as well. Only difference is, it's on a 338 LM Imp rifle. Hoping to only need a 30 MOA rail so I can zero at 200 maybe 300 Max and make 2000.
