But 6"x6"...

" what is it. Im an Electrician."

Magnetic chuck for a machine tool commonly used on surface grinders but not limited to that application. Generally incorporate permanent magnets that rotate into position to hold ferrous work pieces in place. In years past I rigged one up with a 500 lb pull 24 volt magnetic door lock.

Carlsbad, very interesting, had to go back and look at the picture again, to get the scale. Thankyou for the pen and the key. Total forgot to read the 6" X 6" dimension. Using it on a milling machine is interesting, never saw one used for that in my 30 plus years in the trade. Work piece must be flat, fragile, and ferrous, or will you block it? Sound cool keep those end mills chucked tight.

I used them extensively on regular surface grinders and Blanchard grinders. We always used a lot of blocking. When ever a load broke loose on the Blanchard it sounded like a stick of dynamite. I never had one come loose, but the other guy that ran it did. I came to understand the why for the thick shield built into the Blanchard.
