Hey I’m new to the forum but, not new to hand loading. I live in the Idaho Falls, ID area just moved here a little bit ago. I load for a 300 win mag, .223 service rifle, and I just picked up a .270 in a 700. I’ve never loaded for a 270 any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome. My favorite, most accurate load for over 30 years for a .270 has been 130 gr. bullet pushed by 55.0 grs. IMR 4350.

Welcome Sam. You've got some good standard cartridges to shoot and load for with those rifles. If you want to, you could get as crazy as the rest of us knot-heads and start searching for the mobestest loads for optimum accuracy. It's an endless search that will likely lead to new barrels, and loading equipment that you've never seemed to need before.

Might as well just start with some breed of wildcat or modified cartridge from the get-go. jd

I have been loading since 1970-71? and I didn't have any idea how much I didn't know until I somehow stumbled on this forum. Have learned more then ever imagined, (still learning). One thing for sure...My shooting budget gets depleted every month!! LOL. Life is way too short.
