Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

I'm a long time hunter/shooter and really enjoy your site here and all of the info. I am currently building a 6x47 custom on a Mark X mini mauser action. I don't see a whole lot of info here on that particular caliber, but I know that you gus can answer any questions I can probably throw at ya in the near future. I look forward to posting..

Welcome to the board.

I presume that the 6x47 you're building is the one based on the .222 Rem. Magnum case as I'm not sure the Mini Mauser is a good candidate for the new Lapua 6x47 case. If so, it was real popular before the 6 PPC came along and is a good shooter when you find the load it likes. Seems to be a little fussy but very accurate.

Will definitely keep you guys up to date. My gunsmith already has the action done with a Match Shilen barrel. He's making me a sweet offset thumbhole stock from a real nice laminate blank I picked out. The 6x47 is pretty new to me, and as soon as I find a nice lot of .222 brass, I'm gonna scoop it up. I'm anxious to find a load for it, of course, I need the rifle first, LOL....
