New to reloading and this rifle.

I have never fired this rifle before and am new to reloading and am wondering if it is normal to hear a slight click on bolt closure with fresh Lapua brass. I can close the bolt with my thumb without alot of pressure and I can not see any marks on the bullet where it would be jammed hard into the lands.

Thanks

It only clicks on the initial closure. If I lift the bolt and close it again there is no click unless I complety open the bolt and let the extractors let go of the brass.

Is the click just the extractors clicking over the brass?

I notice you said "EXTRACTORS" plural..does cut down the number of weapons this could be but why not say exactly what weapon you are using, is it new or used, factory stock (barrel) and is this factory brass or your reloads.
I am sure you will get plenty of help from this sites members.

Sorry its a Musgrave RSA with a Stainless barrel on it. The click is on new never used Lapua 308 brass.

I just got ahold of a guy with one like it and he says his will click when the extractor grab the brass.

one more time...
he own a RIFLE, not a weapon.....

no need to feed the anti gun folks with more fodder......

In the military, as well as in law enforcement, you learn to refer to firearms as "weapons". It's difficult to adjust the terminology if you've been exposed to it for very long.
Be patient - we will learn in time. ;)

If anybody used the word weapon during the class you had to put a dollar in the jar. There were about 20 in the class and most were previous military or law enforcement. That jug was crammed full before the two day class was over.

Money, forfeited or awarded, is a great motivator.

It helps to learn the "terminology of the times" if you do like I did. I took the NRA handgun instructors course. The teacher put a jar on a table in front of the class. If anybody used the word weapon during the class you had to put a dollar in the jar. There were about 20 in the class and most were previous military or law enforcement. That jug was crammed full before the two day class was over. LOL The money from the jar went to by ammo for a boy scout camp to use.

Anytime it is used for defense, it is a weapon. A baseball bat, is a baseball bat…. until you use it to defend yourself.
