new to neck turning and have a few questions

i'm tired of hornady's 6.5creedmoor brass so i'm wanting to make my own from 308 since i have plenty to use with that said heres what i have so far.
sinclair nt-3000 neck turner
ordering -
inside digital thickness guage
expander and mandrels
redding body die to form them (then i'll run them thru my neck die after trimming) (tried to use my f/l 6.5die to form but messed up to many cases no matter how slow i went)
lube for mandrels

what do you use to set the cutter up feeler guages?
anything else i should get/forgot?
thanks for any help if this goes like i'm hoping i'm also going to use it on my 308 and 223 brass(f t/r rigs)

The NT-3000 is not too difficult to get set up. It still requires a few cartridges to get to where you want to be. Set the cutter, turn a case neck, measure. Repeat until you get the proper thickness. If you end up having to remove more than a couple thousandths, use several passes, the last being about .001 or so. Are you using a Sinclair neck expander? It will help if you do as it is designed to work with the neck trimmer mandrel. If not, take a few measurements and be sure your expander is .001 to .0015 larger than the trimmer mandrel to compensate for some springback when you size and expand. Trim all cases to length. Lube the inside of the case neck. Make sure you cut into the neck/shoulder junction a bit to minimize the creation of a donut. Take your time.
