I recently traded into a gently used Sig Cross stainless barrel in 6;5 CM for a bargain. I know the guy that bought it new 3 months ago, and probably put 100 rds thru it. I stuck on a Sig Buckmasters 4x16x44 30mm tube in some Leupold rings. I loaded up a old standby load of Hornady 123 SST's with H4350 in some once fired assorted brass, 70 rounds total. 35 rounds were nickel and I thought they were all star line but I was wrong, half of it was made in Russia, I think, the brass brass was all Hornady. I started shooting and got some of the Russian brass mixed with the Star line, man the gun did no like that. The Hornady and the Starline were hitting to the same point of impact, 3 round groups would be oblong hole about .300. The Russian junk would shoot 5 inches low and a 1" group was about it. Needless to say I dropped that crap in the trashcan. I had loaded 5 rounds of Remington nickel plated, all I had of it, and it shot 2" left and 2" low. I shot it some more this morning to verify the accuracy and it was repeatable. I have a friend who has a new Odin Works 6cm 7 twist barrel and dies with the headspace coupling on it for a decent deal I am thinking about buying, but in all reality the 6.5 barrel will do all I need with 95 gr Vmaxes and 123 SST's for varmints, deer and maybe a hog or two.
