New to me 40x

For several years I've been acquiring various 22 rifles. Anschutz, BSA, Win lo-wall. Mdl 52 Win, and now a Rem 40x. I'm looking forward to comparing these rifles with various 22 ammo at 100yds and 200yds. To keep things fair a Weaver T36 will be used for a scope along with a Mueller 32 power scope. Eley, RWS, Fiochi, and Lapua ammo will be used. Cooler weather is on its way in N Florida so good shooting conditions (not humid hot} will be a welcome change.

4 22lr 40xs
Walther running boar UIT
Suhl
CZs
6 Mausers ms350bs
3 Springfield 1922s
2 Springfield 1922 clones
Savages
Mossberg 144 , 4 model 44us
6 Kimber 82s
5 H&R 12s
Stevens 416
8 customs on Mauser (Geco ) ss rimfire actions
In the end after testing like you are doing , I ate 11000 rounds of 22 ammo and came to the unscientific conclusion , a savage with a shilen , the factory Walther and a couple of the modified Springfield 1922s were the top contenders . Testing was done at 100 AND 200 .
The 40xs were used but looked (bore scoped ) excellent
Same with the win 52s
All were checked for headspace .
Oh , forgot another contender was the H&R 12 , new from camp perry years ago .
Good luck , enjoy the ride .

How long, actually how many rounds do you shoot , between different lots of ammo to determine what works better in your rifle? I know it varies, but is there any way of getting a positive idea that the rifle has settled down and you are not chasing your tail? (without a tuner...)
Hope this is relevant to the original topic, I don't mean to hijack. Jim

Ggmac : could you give more info. on the 1922 " Clone " and how it was made ? Perry42 ....... should be an interesting report .

I edited my post . Started thinking of the cases and realized I forgot to add the last zero . Yes it was over 10,000 rounds . I wish it was only 2 bricks !
I took the best rifles to the 300 yd . That's my shooting skills were tested and proved lacking .
