New to me 20 Tac

Here is my new to me 20 tac that I bought off of an auction. Its a risk buying used varmint rifles as some of you know. When I looked this one over it didn't seem to have that much use. Its a Remington 700 sa, Pacnor barrel (no clue on twist), HS stock, aftermarket trigger, and a Leupold VX-3 6.5-20x40 with the varmint hunters reticle.

I bought the brass for that was primed and ready to go. I loaded up 26.6grs of Xterminator with 3 32s and 26.0 of Xterminator with 35 bergers. The vertical group is blitzkings and the other is the bergers which the 5th shot was me.

Always a relieve to get a good used shooting rifle. Going to be a fun PD and coyote rifle.

Glad you got a good shooter there. I am fairly new to the .20 Tactical as well. Picked up a Dakota Predator a few months ago. Loaded up some 32 gr Vmaxs tried a bunch of powders and ended up sticking with RL-10X. 1/2" groups are the norm if I am doing my part. It did a good job on a bunch or prairie dogs this summer.

Some times a guy lucks out. Its currently getting at the shop getting threaded. Hoping to do a little more testing on ammo and put some song dogs down with the little guy. Its fun shooting a rifle that can legitimately out shoot yourself. I would like to try RL-10x but current conditions being what they are don't think that will happen for a while.

Redding #1 20TAC form die is all that's needed...run 223 brass thru the form die, load and shoot.
I have had about 6 20tacs. I bought a Redding full length type s bushing die. T ake the bushing and decapping stem out of the die. Run your 223 rem cases thru being careful not to push the shoulder back too much. Put the bushing and decapping stem back in die. Run the cases thru the die. Works like a charm.

Yes, the FL die can be used...but when running them thru the form die, they are ready to load right out of the form die...basically one pass, load and shoot versus 2 passes before loading and shooting...also keeps you from having to disassemble and reassemble your FL die bushing die. Either way works.
