Like the title says.....I am in western Pa. right in the middle of the Super Shoot, Fairchance & Kane (sp) for good places to compete. My equip. is sound ...I need to know everything else so far as how many rounds are needed for a match ( aprox. ) including sighters? At the mentioned ranges would I be best served to have a cart to get my equip. to and from everywhere ? I have not been to LV-HV match to know how it's run...Is there a vid link someone can aim me at that will show me in a general way how it all goes down. I am very much looking forward to jumping in with both feet next season ( in a 200mi radius kind of way ) and am just trying to get all the ducks lined up over this winter. Thanks for your input....I am sure I will be meeting some of you in the future...............Rick

You need to be set up to load at the match. Plan on going to the next SS over in n lawrence ohio as an observer or if you have everything by then plan on competing.

I am definitely attending the next SS. I am set up for loading at the match as well and looking very forward to the experience. Would I be best served having a cart to move my equip. to and from the line ect.?

You are in a place where you can attend many matches, don't forget about Union County (Weikert) and Mainville. If you throw score into the shooting, you can add quite a few more ranges and matches.

As far as a cart is concerned, it depends on your physical ability. Unless it's a Nationals shoot, you will shoot at the same bench for each yardage. If you can carry your gear from your vehicle to the bench, you'll be fine. A Nationals match you move ever relay, then it get's heavy after a while.

Have fun.

Rick, good luck on your endeavor, sounds like you will have a blast and meet a lot of new shooting friends. Wish I was up there to shoot with you. I do have a radio flyer you can use to tote your gear back and forth... ;D

There are four classes in short range Bench rest, matches can be for one class up-to the four gun. Getting set up with a club and doing club matches is a great way to learn the ropes and find a mentor before going to a match the size of the supershoot.

Thanks for the offer. I just may need it. Both my rests are beasts....But rock solid. I am still going to do 1000BR but local to me there is a lot more opportunity for LV-HV 100-200 comp.. This old Sid Goodling PPC is an amazing little gun and VERY cost effective to shoot....
Thanks ALL for your input. Fantastic shooting community here. As a 58yr old newbie I have learned more here in a few short years than hanging around the local range for over a decade.....Now how far off is Spring... ;D

IMO
Yes on the cart for sure. Relay rotation in most cases you have to move your rest and bags off the bench and clear for the next competitor. You have to move all your gear from the truck or car to the loading area and setup.
Something like these are seen a lot at matches

Do a YouTube search for benchrest shooting a lot of them you can see carts in the videos

Be sure and check out Benchrestcentral.com for BR competition, reloading, etc. Most of the people
on Accurate Shooter also contribute there to. Lots of helpful people/information on both sites.
Good luck with short range BR, it's a fantastic shooting sport.
