New to dial up scopes...need advice on Nightforce ATACR w/ MOAR

OK. After many years I was able to buy my first dial scope, Nightforce ATACR 5-25 w/ a MOAR recticle. Prior to this time I have just used regular non dial up scopes like Leupold VX-6 and such.

So, I need some help.

1.) Can I sight in this scope at any power setting and it will shoot dead on at all power settings? I believe these are second focal plane scopes.

2.) Since it is a dial up, do I just shoot at various yards and count how many clicks up from zero I need to be dead on at the various distances then write them down?

3.) Is it easy to shoot different bullets since I would have dial up info. Could I have a bullet for deer and another for varmints, take both hunting, and depending if a deer appeared or a coyote, I could pick the bullet, range find the distance, and dial up.

4.) With the MOAR recticle, do guys sometimes just sight in a gun at 200 yards then use the 1 moa elevation hash marks for longer shots without dialing?

5.) Suggestions, cautions, tips, etc. all appreciated. 0

1. I have 6 of these scopes and have used them extensively and have not seen any zero change when changing power. They are second focal plane and of very good quality.
2. This will work fine out to 500 yds or so. Past that changes in atmospherics will make substantial differences.
3. This will work in theory, but you must remember that two different loads will probably not have the same poi at 200yds, vertically or horizontally. There is also the time factor of changing cartridges and drop data. This can be confusing while you are trying to keep an eye on the animal.
4.Using the holdover method works fine with these scopes.
5.You need to level the reticle, install a good level on the rail or scope to make sure the rifle is level when shooting, and shoot a verticle tracking test. Also either get a good ballistic program for your cell phone, such as Shooter, etc., or a G7 rangefinder. In addition, if you use a phone program, you will need a good weather meter to gather atmospheric data. I use either ballistic programs or the G7 rangfinder, but find the G7 to be quicker and handier when hunting. You can have a dial up solution in several seconds. It sounds like you have the wrong impression like most when they first dabble into reticles with subtensions. Those subtensions are only useful at a specific magnification. Make sure you realize the difference between second focal plane. Which yours is. And a front focal plane which sounds like you think u have. You can run the atac for ranging purposes and holdovers like you mentioned for various distances. Its just not the best way to do it. Sounds like a front focal plane with data saved for each type of load you intend to use is what you were really after.
The best way to utilize the atac you purchased is for one load that works best in your rifle. Zero it for 100 yards and set the zero stop. This way all your adjustments will be drop. Assuming your shooting 100 and beyond. Then shoot groups at various distances saving the actual drop data. Then you can use real field data to apply to your next shot. Once you understand that then try the reticle holdovers at the corresponding hashes at the corresponding magnification. Which in my opinion adds a little to much variable for new shooters this scope will prove very accurate when dialing in dope. More accurate then guessing your exactly on say 10x and estimating a holdover sorry so long winded.
