Greetings all, I am new to this forum and just wanted to say hi. Long time shooter, hunter, varminter. Looking forward to contributing to this forum. MTG
 
Thanks for the welcome. This site will be great to communicate with others. It is big game season here and thus far I have taken a good pronghorn, no pics, and a whitetail doe, again no pics. I still have my "A" tag to fill for deer and elk. Also, I have a wolf tag that I truly would like to fill. Going out tomorrow early AM to hunt north in some big timber areas. Have seen wolves here in the past but no tags before this year. Keeping my fingers crossed for an opportunity.BTW, I live in NW Montana and spend my winters in SW New Mexico. Are there any members from these corners of the U.S ? I have spent the last few yrs. hunting different game animals in TX and NM late in the year and early in the winter. I do indeed love to hunt predators, vermin and feral hogs. Have been fortunaye to travel to South Africa on two trips, '09 and '11, to hunt plainsgame. Have taken 12 plainsgame animals with my Rem. 700, SPS, 300WSM. We are planning a 3rd trip in the future and perhaps combining it with a trip to New Zealand. Gotta do it before I get too blasted old. My menu for these hunts vary. My wife is not the voice of reason when it comes to hunting trips in far away places. She is up for most adventures, particularly when travel to some distant continent is involved. But, she would have nothing to do with my mountain goat hunt in 2011. MTG

Welcome to the best forum on the web.Congrats for your far away hunts and for an adventurous and helping wife.When it comes to choosing a guide for your hunts in N Zealand,try Nathan Foster at balisticstudies. com,his site is very informative;you might also be interested in a couple of guys(Tony & Ross) who guide throughout NZ,and have quite a lot of videos on Youtube (search for Waikarimoana on Youtube,you'll learn all you need to know about their business);I hope it helps,and again welcome here,and in the South Pacific if you ever make the trip.
