New to 6br help.

Hey everyone, I just bought a savage benchrest 6br.

Here are the questions I have. I an getting lapua brass, and I have 95g Berger bullets. I am looking for load help or a starting point/advice.

Also it came with Redding Type S Bushing Neck Sizer Die 6mm BR with no bushings. I've always full length sized everything I've loaded. 99% 223. So my question is what are the bushings and do I need them. Or what's the load process with neck sizing vs full length sizing?

Any info or advice would be appreciated.

Go to the accurate shooter website. There is a very extensive write up on the 6BR. Read it and then really study it. About 99% of your questions are written up in there. As to which bushings - I am currently using .268 but have a .267 also but have never used it yet. Good luck

Cory,
What barrel twist do you have and what shooting distance do you intend to load for? The others have given you some good sound advice for a crash course.

Cory, You will enjoy your new 6 br. for sure but before you get a pile of various answers to a pile of your questions and lots of frustration and under performing wear and tear on the barell be sure you understand what neck sizing and precision reloading is all about, Read and read and re read. A good source is " The Precision Shooting Reloading Guide " .....I believe Sinclair International sells them, it answers technical questions with complete detail.
