has anyone bought a Richards Microfit stock? my good friend got one for his Howa 1500,target BR style) and said it shoots great. BUT the cheap price scares me.... any input would be great,thanks btw heres the link http://rifle-stocks.com

Hmmmmm results sound Soooo mixed. thing is they have a canceled order for a thumbhole benchrest that just happens to be in my color for my action :crazy: for $145 ...think i might just try it out! if is terrible my nephew is gonna have the coolest pellet gun in town! :thumb:

If you have the time, and are good at wood working it might be worth your while.
I have one sitting here, a benchrest for a Win 70. It is going to take lots of work to get it cleaned up.
I am like you, I ran into a good deal and wanted to give it a try. It is like everything, if it is too good to be true, it is.
You really get what you pay for.

My buddy got one and thought it required way too much work to get it finished. More work than he thought he should have to do. The inletting needed lots of work and the finishing needed too much work. They do have a nice selection though.

I've bought 2 Boyd's stocks and was really happy with both of them. They were pretty cheap plus required very little work. The second stock I bought required opening up the barrel channel a little, but that was because I was fitting a #5 contour barrel.

I bought a Wildcat Thumbhole from the canceled order bargain list.
It required quite a bit of sanding,about a days work) but looked great.

I have sold the rifle now but would buy from them again.

Just be prepared. The stocks require a LOT of work.
