New shilan barrels

Has anyone tried the new batch of shilan rimfire barrels? How are they performing?

I have had one on order for bout 14 months now and still have received they told 18 months when I placed the order

Shilen. Since zero reports about anything superior performance wise, you can read between the lines.

Since they aren't available, how can you determine they are inferior barrels?

Besides having a long and distinguished history- Shilen barrels have a very substantial waiting list. Not the usual sign of an inferior product.

Just received two BM 3 groove barrels that I ordered about 2 months ago.

It’s not about a long wait list, it’s about inconsistent deliveries due to production difficulties. New people being trained, etc.
You tell me what you think that means.

I heard from source, more focus on CF and not having the right trained people able to produce. But they keep taking orders and the backlog keeps growing. Also very small company. Many changes in the last few years. I'll pass, and keep using MW and keep my older Shilen, will not be adding any new ones until they prove they can produce a good barrel. So far no good news on the new barrels coming out. Just my 2 cents.

I guess I am kind of slow. I must be missing some kind of information or hidden meaning? I think I made the point that Shilen has a long time reputation of producing a good product. Am I missing the boat here? Have they gone to shit while I wasn't watching...

They were having some supply and production issues for quite some time and their barrels have become hens teeth. At the start of all this some were noting quality issues. As mentioned they have a huge backlog of orders now so the concern is as they start turning things out again if the past quality will still be there..

They were .900" straight standard length blanks. Should finish at 24-25".
