new savage 110 storm scope mount

I'm looking for a scope mount for a savage 110 storm in 243. Being a 110 i purchased a long action DNZ mount for it as it is just a starter rifle. However despite calling DNZ to get a part number i ended up with the wrong mount and I'm not sure what to do now as they obviously aren't reliable at getting the correct one picked out. The mount is too long and it seems like I may need a short action mount for the rifle which is fine but what is up with a 110 short action?

As of the first of this year, Savage is only using three digits to refer to their actions now. So, a 110 could be a Short or a Long Action. Just like a Rem 700 can be a Short or a Long Action.

Apparently some genius in marketing decided that keeping the xx short vs xxx long action easy identification wasn't a good idea anymore. Measured the spacing now that the gun is in hand and it is a 110 short action. Hopefully since they are trying to be like Remington their quality doesn't go down the same road.

It's actually a throw back to how they used to do things before they split things to a 10 and 110. But yes, rather confusing especially when aftermarket companies aren't as up to date with the changes and lingo.

Even when we had the 10 and 110, there were three different short actions!!!!

very true not to mention the various target actions

I had to work with Savage and their Engineers to come up with a Checklist so we can inlet for the right actions and variants here at McMillan. Since 1958, Savage has had so many changes, many of them don't effect the accuracy or reliability but certainly effect the inlet.
