New pistol front sight

I apologize for a pistol post. :)

I'm getting a 1911 slide milled for red dot and I need to use the rear sight machined into the red dot as there's not room for a rear iron sight.

To get the right front sight height, the following website was recommended. Does this look right to you?

No apology necessary here - I am an avid revolver shooter even though I am suffering age related diminishing skills. :(

A fellow shooter suffering the same disease offer a solution which I found useful. Either get a bigger target or move your existing target closer. What a concept! I mean the idea at my age is to stay active in the sport. ;)

I'm not the most experienced hand gunner, the sights were always a problem for me to see, even as a young man. I bought a Ruger, a Mark III ? The rear site was a 'white outlined' V, the front was a plastic tube. I installed the bright green one, it worked best for me. The red sites are a problem because of being color blind. That was the best site I ever used, other than a bulky ugly 'red dot'. Just put the bright green dot in the white V. A site like that on my S&W revolvers would getting me shooting again.
