New on the Market?

It was released a couple of years ago , the accuracy was good to average not many reviews then they stopped production I guess because you couldn’t find them any longer ,

Personally I do t care for Ruger, you will spend $1500 on aftermarket parts to get it to shoot with a $500 savage.....this one seems to have all the bells and whistles , I would head over to rimfire central and see what those blokes have to say....

I have had a very large number of Rugers in a number of calibers over the years. 10/22s, M77s, M77/22s, MK series, #1Bs and recently added a .223 Ruger American Predator to the safe. I have never had one that I couldn't make shoot very well. The only one that needed any after-market items was the Predator...a $10 trigger spring. Perhaps they aren't the best for competition (I don't compete) but they have always been a good choice for me.

I've been dissappointed with the 77/22's I've owned or shot over the years.

I've never owned or shot a 77/22 that gave me great accuracy.

I shoot 50 yard rimfire fun matches, mostly from a bench and have never seen one. If they were very accurate one of the guys I shoot with would have one.

I had one of the Ruger Precision Rimfire Rifles I bought soon after they hit the market. It was one of 3 owned by members of my shooting group. All 3 guns were mediocre shooters off the bench no matter what we did to improve them, including an aftermarket barrel in one case. They weren't actually terrible, just not very good. I think the most annoying thing outside of the plinking-level accuracy was that the 15-round magazines didn't really fit. Just a bit too small for the mag. well, causing frequent feeding failures. Oddly enough, standard 10/22 10-round mags fit well and cleared up that particular problem. All 3 rifles were passed on to others at bargain-basement prices. How Ruger could describe them as "Precision" rifles with a straight face remains a mystery.

If you run across one at a good price, are satisfied with minute-of-coke can accuracy and have a couple of 10/22 magazines laying around, you might be happy.
