New Member

New member chiming in to say hello. I’ve been more of a pistol guy, but some buddies got me into bolt action when Covid hit. It was pretty easy to see why, and I caught the bug pretty quickly. For the past 3-4 years, they have been pushing me to get into hand loading because they felt like I had the personality for it…I’m pretty deep in the OCD spectrum I finally caved a month ago, and it’s been both an enjoyable and frustrating process. They recommended that I join this forum since there is a wealth of information that would be beneficial for my journey. I just wanted to introduce myself and thank everyone in advance for riding along and guiding me in this adventure.

Welcome aboard! I see your not too far from me, maybe you'll come out and shoot with us at Sac Valley! I just posted the current high-power schedule in the competition forums under "Where to shoot" pinned post.

Hope to see you on the line!

Thanks for the info! I’m based in SJ, and we usually shoot at Los Altos R&G or Metcalf for quick sessions. We’ve been out to Coalinga a few times, and we are planning to check out SLO in the near future so that we can start practicing past 200. I guess a trip to Sac is in order!

Welcome to Accurate Shooter, enjoy, make yourself at home. Much to learn by asking questions, reading threads, and using the search function. Mega information in the archives.

Welcome to the rabbit hole! I came here a while ago. Great guys offering help and knowledge! Best forum on the net!

Welcome to Accurate Shooter. I also used to shoot mostly pistol, but eye problems have shifted me to mostly rifle now.
You will find there is lots of good advice on reloading here. Mostly rifle, but it is really the same for pistol, actually a little easier and more simple for pistol. Ask away, and think in terms of your budget.

Welcome. If you think you might enjoy shooting rifle matches, there are quite a few F Class and Bench Rest shooters lurking on here. Bench Rest and OCD are a match made in heaven, don’t ask how I know. If you think you might like Bench Rest, there are NBRSA matches at Sacramento Valley Shooting Center, around 20-25 miles SE of Sacramento. For more info look for Sloughhouse on the NBRSA match schedule, https://www.nbrsa.org/ranges/#south-west.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Thanks for the info. My buddies that got me into reloading encouraged me to start getting active on this forum because I would learn a lot. They’ve been trying to get me into reloading for at least 3-4 years because they know how OCD I can get with things. Every now and then, they would send me stuff in attempts to twist my arm. They sent brass, bullets, reloading trays, dies, priming tools, and other odds and ends. One of them even sent me a Charge Master, and another sent me an electric trimmer…and that’s what really did me in. I feel pretty confident in my process, but I know there’s still a lot to learn. Thankfully, I picked up a decent amount of knowledge from listening to them talk about reloading over the years, and I’m really excited to see how far I can take this. Yeah…they warned me that it’s an endless rabbit hole, but that kinda seems like the fun (and likely frustrating) part of it
