New member from NC with a new .308

Hello everyone. I just wanted to take a second and introduce myself. My name is Adam. I am currently stationed in Camp Lejeune NC. I have been a long time hunter and shooter. I grew up shooting competitive archery. I got my first quality gun (25-06 Sendero) and reloading kit when I was 16 and have been hooked since.

I just received my first custom .308.
700 action in a A5 stock, Hart 18” 1:14 barrel. Built by PWS in Quantico.

I look forward to hanging out here.

Thank you to everyone for the welcome. I am one of the odd Jarheads that is from here. I graduated from Highschool in Swansboro NC. I have been in the Corps for about 15 years. I am hoping to retire here. I do not shoot with any clubs as of yet, but hope to soon. I just dont care for the tacticool and youtube ninja crowd. I would rather hand out at the range with the "old timers" and actually learn something. I used to work at a local gun shop when I was younger. Mostly I am self taught, which is to say that I have no idea what I am doing. I bought a Rock Chucker kit years ago. I then went on several deployments and the the reloading and shooting in general took a back seat. I have started to bust the rust off of everything. Figuratively and literally. I forgot how much I missed this.

SEMPER FI MARINES!! Welcome aboard Adam, much knowledge to be gained here, as well as from the 'old guys' at the range.
Just watch your wallet, this precision game can get pricey in a hurry....ask me how I know, lol.
 
I will as soon as I can figure out how. It would appear that I gravitate towards pricy hobbies. I was an avid cave diver for a couple of years when I lived in Florida. I have a ton of money tied up in bow and archery equipment. I was into rock and ice climbing. Guns have always been a staple in my life and it would appear that I have come full circle. I am starting o get serious about my re loading an am replacing my entry level stuff with more stuff from L.E Wilson and Forster. I just picked up the Sinclair Wilson case trimmer. The difference between that one and my old RCBS one it crazy.

I don't know what I can help with at this time. But if anyone wants LC brass or specs on the new sniper rifles, hit me up.

You will find alot of help here. All you need to do is either ask a question or search.

You picked a unique combo with twist rate and 18" barrel and the A5 is a solid pick. POST some picture when you get the chance.
