New Leupold line for 2021: Mark 3HD M5C3 series (?)

About every year in conjunction with SHOT Show, major retailers debut the "Coming Soon" product lines. I came across what appears to be the next line of Leupold Scopes on the Midway USA website last night, the Mark 3HD line.

To be quite honest, being an optics 'junkie' (I admit it) I could barely contain my excitement in seeing the offerings from this new line up after doing a search specific to the Mark 3HD. The 4-12x model came up in another search.

It seems that Leupold has "listened" to the field and has incorporated the best of their existing and past lines to offer an high value economy price point line! If this holds up to expectations, my note to Leupold will be a solid "great job, and thank you."

I appears that Leuoold has put together Mark 4 (VX-III), Mark AR, VX-R Patrol, VX-Freedom AR, and Mark 5HD to create a "best of" rifle scope. Some of the features apparent to me:
1) 30mm main tube. 30mm has been industry standard as the long range, precision sports have come to the forefront over the past decade, so it is good to see them sticking with this diameter for commonality with the existing rings and mounts most likely have.
2) A 24x offering on par with the older Mark 4 8.5-25x. This magnification power capability in the >20x range is desired for precision shooters and varmint hunters alike. It is nice to see that a 24x scopes is to be offered above the usual 18x and 20x offerings that Leupold has historically had.
3) Mil based reticles coupled with the M5C3 Mil based compact elevation dial. Depending on the scope power, the Mark 3 HD line provides common formats from past scopes. In the lower power offerings Leupold has brought back the FireDot TMR reticles. In the 24x scope, the TMR is featured which due to its prior use in a majority of Mark 4 scopes, will be familiar to many. The M5C3 elevation dial will now correspond to the reticle subtensions in adjustments. (assuming at highest magnification with SFP).
4) Economy pricing. Self evident, hardly a need to "deep dive" but at a ~$700.00 MSRP, this is much easier to afford for many shooters than the ~$1,500.00-$2,000.00+ price point of the VX-6, VX-5, & Mark 5 lines. For those looking to have a scope on varmint/predator fields or at a match that shares common features with these higher price point lines, but offers the right combination of other features particular to their sport, this will be hard to beat!
5) Features. Also self apparent from a quick overview, so I will let a click on the hyperlink below begin the journey:

Again, eagerly looking forward getting one of these scopes to enjoy the value that Leupold appears to be bringing out into the shooting sports market.
