Friends and shooting partners Larry Isenhour and Mike Davis set two impressive new 600-yard records at the Piedmont Gun Club today.

Isenhour: 50-5X,.904') Score Record.

Larry Isenhour beat his own World Record with a perfect 50-5X, plus a tiny sub-inch group.

Larry reports: 'For those of you who want to know here are the particulars;

Viper Drop port action,
Krieger,gain-twist) 6mm barrel, 30 inches, 6BRX .272 neck.
Berger 105 VLD's danzak coated,
32.5gr H-4895, Fed 205M
Leupold 45X

And the stock is the laminated maple and walnut that my brother made for me and I have been using for a couple of years.
This gun was smithed by Mike Davis. -- Larry Isenhour'

READERS -- note the no-turn neck and H4895 powder. Most guys are running Varget or RL15, but 4895 can be VERY accurate.

Davis: 1.4XX-inch 600-yard 4-target Aggregate

This was set with a 'true' heavy gun, but also shooting a 6BRX I believe. That's VERY VERY small for a 4-target average.

More details will follow, along with photos.

Way to go Larry ....I have only shot a cupla sub 1' ers...but never in the X-ring....'pretty nice' ....congratulations....and Mike...unbeliveable agg....good for both of you...I know how good it feels to acomplish these feats....you both have good guns....and guess what ....you both know how to shoot em!!!!......Roger

Larry and Mike,

Great shooting. Guys, Larry and Mike are going to be hard to hold this year, with there 6BRX's. Mikes new HG will be the way to go from now on.

Good Shooting. Both of you.........

Lots of folks on various forums drop phrases like my 'whatever' is sub 1/4moa out to 600 or 1000 yards. Larry, awesome group and score and Mike's FOUR target agg.....you did it first.

Thanks for the compliments, fellows. I appreciate that. By the way Roger, you did some fantastic shooting as well in the NBRSA nationals. Congrats. to you.

This picture is an old one. I still use the same stock, but I now have a Stiller Viper drop-port and a Leupold Competetion scope. I was very proud of my pending record, but even more than that, my son, Paul Isenhour won heavy gun score and heavy gun agg yesterday. I was very excited about that. It is very nice to be shooting with my son.

Mike Davis won light gun group and light gun agg as well as setting the group agg in heavy gun, so he did some great shooting yesterday. He was the man....Both his guns have BRUX barrels, so if you are wondering how they shoot, this should tell the tale. Paul Isenhour's 6BR also features a BRUX barrel.

Larry and I have done alot of shooting together, and for these records to happen for both of us on the same day is something we will talk about for years to come. The only thing that could have topped it off did happen, Paul,Larry's son) won on the same day, man what a day we had considering the poor conditions!!!
