Mine are diamond drag. I have the rotary attachment with solid carbide cutters, but they are limited on a round surface.

I like the rotary cutting head with carbide cutters and a clamp system that allows the piece to be turned so the cutter always hits it at 90 degrees. When I owned my gin shop I also sold and engraved trophies, cups etc. and you learn to get creative with the Hermes units. It also depends on which one(s) you have. The large free standing one, that can hold a large trophy like a traveling cup, work the best.

I have a GTX-3 machine plus the rotary engraving machinery. If I did a lot of barrels I would do a rotary indexer and try the rotary powered setup.

Me too except id get a cnc mini mill to do the engraving.
