New here

Hello everybody. This is my first post here, just finished registering. I've lurked some here in the past, found good info. About me, I've been a casual reloader of handgun and rifle almost forty years now. For the last five, I've been learning the art of bullet casting, and with the help of another forum group, have become pretty good at that too. But now, I'd like to begin fine tuning my 308 (Ruger MK II Target) and a new addition I just bought, a Weatherby Vanguard Sub-Moa in 223. In my area, ranges longer than 100 yards are getting hard to access, due to lack of, and distance to. I shoot for my personal pleasure only, but I do enjoy the fruits of being fanatical about perfection.
I have accumulated some new Lapua for both, as well as Sierra MatchKings for both (53 and 155). Powder here is still a bit hard to get.
I guess I'll be looking and reading for tips on things related to reloading and shooting techniques to help me be better on the bench.

Welcome and please start asking questions. There are no dumb questions because the one question you dont ask is the dumb one.Fellas are timid in the beginning and dont post much, but I am urging you to ask away.Your ruger may shoot the 155's but I would try the 168 grain match bullets as they work good in everything in .308 I have.

You know Jon, I spent a good hour trying to decide between the 155's and the 168's. So, instead of buying the 500 count pack, I just got a couple of 100 count boxes. I've used 155 Hornady A-max's in the past in this rifle with OK results. The 53's have proven to be good in my T/C Contender with a 1:9 twist but the Weatherby is 1:12. Guess I'll find out soon.

Bolt bender, Welcome to the world of O.C.D. :) Don't be afraid to ask silly questions I've already beat you to the punch. Lotsa' great guys here with that "old school" helpful attitude.
