New Gun likes new bullets

I thought you guys would like some feed back on the new Berger 108 bullets. I just had a new rig put toegether by Carl Bernosky and I thought I would share the results with you. I am sending you some pics of the groups and also of the gun to show you the nice work Carl does. I am not sure if you guys are aware of Carl. I've always been aware of his shooting talent because as far as I'm concerned he is a legend at Camp Perry.I think he won Camp Perry four years straight. Tiger Woods of shooting!!! I wasn't aware what a fine gun he can make. What amazed me about the 108 is the first seating depth I tried gave me the results you see. I compared them to some 00071 lot berger 105's I had that have been my tried and true rounds. I had 10 rounds loaded with the 108's and after that excellent 3 shot group I fired the next seven in succession and they printed a nice 1.430 group. All rounds fired at 500 yards. Carl did everything on this gun even finished the stock.

Were the bullets into the lands? If so how far? If not how far did you jump them? What tension did you use on the neck to bullet?
Nice gun, great group.

Andy,

I measured right up against the lands and backed off 8 thousanths. I am shooting a 269 neck and use a custom neck sizer with 265 bushing. Seating depth 1.813 and the seating at the land was 1.821 Backed off 8 thousanths.

Dave,

Nice group. Do you have a larger version of the target pic? it's a little small even when I click the thumbnail for a larger version.

You can send the larger pic to the email below.

Dave,
thanks for the info. It might be a nice place for me to start with my new 6BR. Mine was built by Greg West whom bought out Richards Custom guns and stocks.
keep on shooting,

These same bullets shot really well for Danny Reever at about .015" into the lands. That's a place where I usually start.

Just talked to Eric Stecker of Berger today. For the 108s he also recommends starting either at least .010" in or .010" out.
