New Gun Control Law Signed today by Governor Brown

Shynloco

You can lead a horse to water, but ........
Sad to say that today, our esteemed Democratic Governor Brown signed into law, SIX new Gun Control laws that are SURE to prevent shootings like the ones in San Bernardino by ISIS sympathizers. (Yeah right). That reassurance comes from the creators of the Brady Bill. Amongst the bills is my favorite, that will require owners of magazines for AR's to "turn in" any magazine that holds more than 10 rds. Imagine how short that line will be and comprised of Democrats who can swap lies and pat themselves on the back for all the lives they're now saving. And now, after the laws go into effect, the magazine button on ARs sold will have to have a device that prevents rapid magazine release. But the good part is that if you presently own an AR with the rapid release button, you can keep it and won't have to turn in your AR. GREAT! But we have November to await when the Lt Governor (Gavin Newsome-sp) has a bill on the voting sheet that will require sellers of ammo to be registered with DOJ and that buyers will have to go through a background check. Imagine how popular that idea will be and that frigand BOZO will be running for Governor in 2018.

Bottom line, if you believe in the 2nd Amendment or even the Constitution of the United States of America...don't move to California. The IDIOTS are everywhere and Hillary and Barack's ideas of disarming THE PEOPLE is slowly coming to fruition. Imagine how "free" people will be in another 30yrs, which thank goodness, I won't be around to see (at least I hope not). Remember, guns kill people and nobody is responsible for their actions anymore. Didn't grow up that way and will never believe or promote that CRAP, ever!

On the right coast, this "disease" is slowly moving south. Delaware just passed a law for a 25 day instead of a 3 day waiting period to get a firearm if the Feds don't respond to a background check. I don't know how to characterize them but the NY, NJ and further north misguided liberals are moving to our once conservative southern counties and bringing their politics with them

I moved to Connecticut in 1980, to get away from NY gun laws. Connecticut was heaven - you could own anything up to a 40mm Bofors and beyond - and the state was conservative.

Now we are 5th worse in gun laws, and I am looking to move when I finish my current obligations.

How can one be required to "turn in" an item...without financial remuneration? So I assume Cali is going to buy +10- rd mags in 2017??

Best thing that could be done if you have an AR, is put it in a sporter stock. The Idiots will let you own all you want!

Isn't it funny Jerry signed everything and the jumped on a plane to head off to Europe for a vacation.
I feel so much safer now that he signed everything.

OK, no shooter I know likes the new legislation but let's be fair about it.
The new California law prohibiting and requiring the disposal of large capacity magazines allows for more than one method for their disposal, it applies to more firearms than the AR-xx (M14 comes to mind).
If we're gonna criticize them, let's show that we at least get all our facts straight.

We have been teaching this poo in schools for 50 years guys...bad ideas have bad consequences and frankly, there are not enough "northern east coast liberal migrants" to change things that fast. It is happening right in our homes when we send our kids to schools that espouse these values. Shame on us and our parents (I am 52) for sucking the teat of government largess and drinking the Kool-aid.

So sorry for you guys in CA...from a guy in NY

In my younger days, I contemplated moving to California. I can now thank the Lord that it was never made convenient enough for me to do so. The laws in Florida are more to my liking. The very knowledgeable lawmakers in California have over looked the fact that enforcing the existing laws will do more to prevent crime than any additional legislation.

Good in theory but - all new laws become "existing laws" once they are signed, and Calif (+ many other states) have many existing laws that go from suckie to down right stupid.

Death by a thousand cuts. It's slowly working in states like CA, NY and those in the northeast. The only viable recourse is to move.

With the number of guns in CA, they can't keep track of, nor enforce anything:D
The number of guns in California is larger than the population in most states.

Wanna buy an “assault rifle”? Simply contact your local Mexican or South American cartel representative providing services worldwide. They’ll sell anything to anybody they don’t kill first, even weapons like the one used in the Paris terrorist attacks traced back to our .gov’s “Fast and Furious” guns walkin’ program.

I'm very interested to see what kind of cooperation is seen with the "turn in" of 10+ mags.
It is my belief that if folks comply, that it will be seen as "success" and there will be future "turn in" legislation that we'll like even less.
I hope that when the date for compliance arrives, not a single mag is surrendered. jd

Ammo is going to be in short supply in Arizona and Nevada. Those Cal folks are just going to go across the border to buy what they should be able to buy in their own state, but can't.

And thats a misdemenor punshishable by a year in the klink and $1000.

All of this mess has to go before the voters in November. I doubt they will pass.
They set the bill up with contingencys so things happen whether it's voted in or not. So a yes or no vote is still yes for something. We just get to pick which side of effed we want.
