New groundhog spot showing promise.

Day off went to newly acquired spot to get a feel for it,shots are stretching it for the 17 Hornet but we made it, 150 to 250 yards see fields the depth of,all beans, hay , some corn the bare patches show where they're working them good . Two more weeks and I won't be able to see them in m
beans. Two shot in a big brush pile on edge, the shot never knocked them off the branches. The 17 is incredible. Saw 9 got 5 204 will come along next time. I ranged 4 at 300 to 400 yards.Good vantage points to shoot from lot cooler in the old barn. In reply more pictures.

Looks very similar to hunting here. I got two in the bean field out back over the holiday, 6x47 L.

Keep them coming - great shooting.

Since I am aging out the sport with diminishing skills and endurance, I think the time has come for my title, "The Ground Hog Man" as I am widely known by the farmers in Berks County, PA, to be passed on to you.:rolleyes::rolleyes: May the force be with you. ;););)

I appreciate that , more than happy to cart you around on my atv and have you take a few more shots, all good things come to an end.
Well that's a sure darn good problem to have. Keep a few for seed.
Always , this place many are not accessible, and every outbuilding is riddled with holes, but that type of shooting is not for me,I like em to be out there a piece.

Jealous to say the least
I hear you been there before, but i vowed i'd never be there again, I drove hours and many days in the evening glassing as to where the GH's were, and started making inroads.I'm at 5000 acres easily so I'm set awhile.I'll admit after acquiring a few spots many referrals were word of mouth. Early on I learned one thing from a farmer 20 years ago, after he let me in. I asked for deer hunting privileges, he said sternly you're here for gh's deer hunting in these parts is highly coveted, family first. Never ever asked any farmer for anything other than gh's. Got the best deer hunting one could hope for now on my place.Good luck. If you get permission that usually means you, not all your buddies, learned that lesson in my teens.
