New GPS.....?

Depends. If you want a camera, or pre-installed maps. The basic 610 is $500 MSRP. There are other modells that have a camera built in, and maps. I have had a GPS unit since the mid 90's when they first came out. I have owned several. My current model is a Garmin MAP 76, and still works fine.. Here's the deal about the factory maps. They kinda suck IMO. With all these units you can change a chip and use various other maps. The map I use the most is the hunting map that I purchased specifically for my state of Wyo. This map shows land ownership, terrain and has all the hunt area boundaries marked.. I believe the current chip also has who owns the land. I bought this chip for~$100.

Here's a link to the Garmin page scroll down til you find the models you are interested in. FWIW I have bought 3 GPS units online at a place called The GPS Store. Best prices I have found and quick service..

One more thing. If you want to practice using your GPS I recommend joining GeoCaching.com. Find some GeoCaches in your area and load em to your GPS unit. Then go hunting them. This will really help you to get familiar with your unit.

I like the features of the 64st. I wouldn't think I'd need a touch screen model.

Montana if you want a large touchscreen, 64st if you want push buttons and the best antenna, Oregon if you want a medium sized touch screen. The 64 is the most durable and will probably have the best battery life out of the 3.

Here's another opti N it's a dual GPS receiver that'll hook to your phone via Bluetooth or a tablet and you can download pretty much any app and run it as a topo gps and probably do a lot more than the garmin for a lot less.

I use one with my iPad mini on my RZR to track my ride and it's amazing.

Here's a screen shot of a ride I did tracking it.
You can zoom in as close as 50' away or out as far as you like.
