New custom build, action help?

Having a REALLY good "smith" put it together is probably more important than which custom action you use. You can all the best "whatever" parts and if the Smith doesn't know what he's doing it's just a bunch of expensive parts that look good .

You won't find the 6.5x55 to have any advantage over the other 6.5s. More capacity, yes. Usable, no. And, of course, there is the barrel life issue...

Ballistic coefficient with manageable recoil is the program. Weight and a muzzle brake manage recoil.

I'd build a 300 WSM for the Berger 230, as much barrel as I could stand with a muzzle brake on the end and weight to balance it out. Put a big NF or March on top. It would be hard to beat without going to something esoteric like the 30 Boo Boo.
Not usable :o Thats funny ;D
That's exactly what I mean.

For competition use, with available powders and the high BC bullets, you are into the area of diminishing returns with the 260 Remington, much less the Swede.

You are better off with the 6.5x47 Lapua or 6.5 Creedmoor.

If you want something on the Swede case, call Greg Walley at Kelbly's and talk to him about his wildcat. He pushes the shoulder back such that you get nice case fill with the right powders.

But, YMMV.
