The stock will be one of my designs.
So it’s first up.
On the mill…

Off the mill with ruff sanding..

The wood on this stock is Maple and Sapele..
Getting a new Defiance Deviant..
This is day one of the project.
Stock cut…
Will keep time line going although something’s will be days behind.

I really like your stock design. It looks like it would suit my shooting style perfectly. Nicely done. Do you cut them on a mill or with a cnc router?

Looks great Brother, he is going to love that! When are we doing his barrel?
 
Ok, a little more work completed. Got the inletting finished up this morning. Have the action holes drilled out. Will edge out the area for loading port and bolt handle cut out Saturday.
Will build the pillars this weekend also and will get the stock ready for Devcon bedding.

Don’t sweat the vises, they have rubber soft jaws installed. Holds the stock without damage..

Will get pictures up tomorrow but have made a lot of progress. Pillars made, trigger guard installed, load port and bolt handle cut out all done.
My buddy is a big LSU fan so we’ve decided to go purple on the finish. Played with mixtures of blue and red and got a color mix chosen.
Think this will turn out really nice.
Bedding tomorrow and will get to final sanding..

Here’s the color sample, will hit w/ clear coat tomorrow and bring it to life..

Well I don’t really like bedding….
But… I have learned to hate bedding for triggers with a safety..
Very solid bedding job, snaps on place and fits like a glove..
Dyed the stock around the area to be bedded prior to starting. Cleaned up the pass thru for trigger w/ the dye also..
