NEW Centerfire Rifle Accuracy Book

Has anyone read the book Centerfire Rifle Accuracy by William Hambly-Clark??? It was originally printed and sold from the author in Australia for like $100 plus $50 for shipping to the US. It is now listed on amazon for $65. It is quality info on building long range rifles. At 506 pages, it is the definitive work, describing in detail, the creation of an ultra accurate center fire rifle. Not only are step by step instructions provided for every aspect of the build, but it also covers the theory and mechanics behind each individual process so the builder understands not only how to do it, but why it needs to be done. Here is a link if anyone wants to check it out. http://www.amazon.com/dp/0990568733/?tag=accuratescom-20

When you say it has "step by step instructions" are these specific to a certain action, or just general practices? In other words, is this book based on building a Remington 700?

Theres no step by step to building a rifle. He takes subjects like say bedding and shows you 3-4 examples of how he does it on different actions. Same with triggers he shows how to convert remingtons and stuff like that. Its the absolute best book ive ever seen on advanced rifle building. If you have the tooling and equipment you already know whats in the book hopefully but he does show different ways of doing things and also how to make different tools. Being in aussie land he doesnt have the luxury of just buying stuff and getting it in 2 days so he shows that. He is a very talented guy and the book is a must have even if you dont build rifles to see the stuff we have to do to get em to you. I bought it on the first run with air mail so i had to pay dearly but its been on my coffee table since ive had it. Ive went thru it a few times already. This book and unintended consequences by Ross are 2 books every shooter should have.

At the Amazon price purchasing the book is a no brainer. I paid the full boat first offering price and air mail cost from Australia and don't regret it.

A lot of times books are either too focused or too broad. This sounds like a good read.

I agree and this book is really kinda both. He claims to not be an author but he did a fantastic job on this all the way thru. Its worth the @$175 i paid for it. If mine got lost id buy another one tomorrow

Excellent book, well worth the $. There are very few gunsmith books as good as this one, and it's a very good read besides.

Bill's book is an excellent read, he has just / is about to release i think a 4th edition. its like your buying someones 25 years experience, so at the purchase price its a steal even if you don't do your owe work, its still great. most if not all of the hunting stocks/rifles he built are works of art. definitely not an assembler or parts

Great book, I have learned a ton from the pages of that book. I paid the original 175 for it and would not hesitate to buy again. Much more informative and comprehensive then many other sources I have in my library.

I am a serious newby. I really enjoyed the way this book gives you multiple ways of doing something and then goes to break down each process. Then he disects the method and explains in his opinion the pros and cons of such method.

He even talks about making trigger springs. I haven't seen that in any other books I have.

Great read. I highly recommend it.
