New bushings

Hello everybody,
I would like to show you two small video about two bushings surface from the same brand.
I receive them a few days ago, but really I found a lot of differencies into the surface finishing.

My question is: what would you do if you happened to receive two bushings like these?
Thank you in advance for your opinion.

I sent them an e-mail and they aswered me quickly.

Good morning,
I would like to bring to your attention a video showing one of the bushings received this week of your production.
The tool marks and oxidations on the internal surface are not thought to be the standard of your company, which I respect to the high quality of the products you developed and market.
In your website you wrote: “ Made from 17-4 stainless steel, then processed with the same black nitriding as our Dies. Our neck bushings have an incredibly smooth inside finish paired with an extremely slick external finish from nitriding and polishing.”
I think we are talking about another kind of bushing.
I would appreciate your comment on what you see in the video.

Answer…

Remo,

Is the bushing scratching your necks? The inside of the bushing will not look like a mirror.

I’m not seeing any evidence of black nitriding in your videos! Perhaps that step was skipped in their manufacturing process?

If the case necks were scratching the bushings, the marks would appear as straight lines oriented parallel with the bushing’s centerline.
