new Brux BR-DX

new Brux straight taper 1.250-1.100 at 28 inches,.236 .243 8 twist .138 freebore 6mm BR-DX done by Claunch Customs Memphis Tn,

started +.013 in the lands .8 grs light of my first barrels favorite load,,first shot on paper and cleaned barrel and shot 3 shots to get zeroed at 100,,gonna dial up 10.5 moa and start load work at 600 yards,,

looks pretty decent to me for the first 4 shots,,little more powder and maybe adjust seat depth should be all it takes,,the Krieger actually liked a little jump,,

thanx again Tim

If the H4350 doesnt work. (I would actually like to know if it does!) Try some Varget, R-15 ( or N203B). You probably know that though. Let us know how it works out. I'm going to work with The BRDX again myself this winter. I love the design, just have not found a good, consistent barrel chambered in it yet! Sam Hall

You are welcome Eric, I know you will have it figured out real soon. I think you summed it up on both counts pretty well.

Sam, great to see you posting with your vast experience. Eric does not shoot IBS so he may need an introduction, Eric, Sam Hall is IBS 4 time shooter of the year at 600 yds!!! Did that with mainly home wins at Piedmont NC against the countrys best shooters. I am still in awe at the years with him, Mike Davis, Terry Brady, Larry Isenhour, I could go on and on.....what a venue.

Had to go tend a grill, and had to add Chad Jenkins, Rodney Wagner and Mike Hanes. Great competitors, and great friends.

I hear James Phillips stories and hear he shot a lot at Piedmont

Sorry for the blindless ramblings.... ;) Just had some fond memories stir my mind. Back to mr.bigs BR-DX.

I assure you I know who Sam Hall is,,seeing him interested in the DX makes me feel like I may not be as stupid as some people may think,,

and I LOVE the old school crown job,,I remember as a youngster all the guys that had screamer barrels had 11* crowns,,

gonna do seat depth test with the 35.5 4350 load at 600 yards in cherry picked conditions just after daylight,,when I get the seat depth I am gonna do powder tests with 4350 and Rl 15,,

the fat barrel tracks better on the rest and recoils less than the HV with the brake,,

I am really impressed having only shot 4 rounds,,

I did something different already,,I split a case neck length wise and found where the vld and scenar just kisses the lands before screwing the barrel on the action,,

again thanx I am really pleased,,

shot two 5 shot groups at 600 today,,32.1 RL15 105 VLD -.005 CCI 450,one was 2.25 and other was 2.75,,,the 2.25 had 4 in a 1.25 cluster with one low,,2.75 had 3 in 1 inch cluster and 2 touching high,,

brass has over 20 loadings and gonna trash it,,,,gonna hydroform 100 new cases and start over at 32 RL15 and work up .2 grs at a time,,
