NEW BRUX BARREL

Have a Savage LRPV 22-250 that shoots like a 10 , but is a -1 to clean. Carbons up quickly & takes a lot of patches and effort to clean. A real PIA, so i decided to get a new barrel. after looking around, I think I want a BRUX 1-9 tw to match the contour and length of the LRPV barrel. $ 420 plus ship and 11 weeks delivery. I would appreciate actual experiences w/ Brux..Thanks

Brux barrels are excellent cut rifled barrels. They are made by a small group of guys in the Wisconsin "barrel belt" and they do nothing all the work day but try their best to make great barrels - and they do!

I have 2 Brux barrels, one a 10 twist .300 RUM Heavy fluted 30 inch, and the other a 10 twist sporter profile 24 inch long in .308, love them both, easy break in, very accurate. You will be pleased.

I have a 8 twist 28" bull barrel from SS SUPPLY in 6mm brx and am well satisfied with it. quite accurate and cleans easily. my next one will probably be in 22-250 imp. or 6mm22-250imp. ronfoster

I have a Brux on my 308 I had built this winter. It flat out shoots. It also cleans much easier than my Kriegers, Shilen and Douglas barrels.

Brux definitely has priority over others in my house. Also, their interrupted fluting looks awesome.

I guess I kinda understand your dilemma and might talk myself out of an inexpensive take off barrel but here goes. Did you ever try KG Products? Couple patches of Carbon Killer, a good brushing (Brass and one direction, normally 10 strokes), a couple of their Copper Killer, a couple patches with their bore polish, couple patches of Kroil to remove residual polish, a couple of dry patches, clean chamber and your done! Okay it sounds like a lot but only takes several minutes as I have a designated cleaning bench and everything is right at hand.
What twist is your .22-250? Are you gonna sell it if you take it off? ;)

Robert told a good story. My three Brux barrels shoot and clean very well. Mine are .308, .284 Win and 6mm Remington.

Thank everybody for the replies. The barrel is a 1 -12 tw & shoots 5 52gr amex w/ 34.5 gr of ww748 into 1 small hole @ 100m.I'm going with the Brux.

I am a Brux dealer these guys are awesome! They are the only barrel I am shooting right know and I am very pleased. Talk to Kyle he will get you what you need.

I cleaned my Brux 6 Dasher 10 twist bbl today after 200 rounds fired on a PD trip. Carbon fouling was minimal (thx benchmark). Two patches showed faint traces of blue - that's it.

When I'm blessed with the budget to do another build Brux will be at the top of my list.

Two of the best reasons to live in Wisconsin- cheese and barrels!! and we have an abundance of both. Ken and Norm(and Kyle for the past year or so) are right down the road from us and they put their heart and soul into every barrel that goes out the door. If there is even one little thing about a blank that they dont like, it will NOT go out that door to a customer. Even if it is something they know will not affect accuracy it still will not go out, they usually end up using those on there own guns. That is just how they are.

I have been using their barrels for over 3 years now and I honestly dont. think I could use anything else at this point. Everything about them is generally better or at the very least equal to any barrel I have ever owned. Every Brux I have owned uop to this point has cleaned better than anything else that I have owned (or still do). Anyways you get the picture. They really do a great job.

I know the next barrel I go with will be a Brux. I have been impressed with how they shoot. Everyone that I've shot with says that Brux is the best for ease of cleaning, and accuracy. I know that I wish I had ordered one and put it on my newest rifle instead of a Bartlein, which is still a good barrel don't get me wrong, but I know I am going with Brux. Scott is right, they are a good group of guys to deal with, and they do impressive work.

Nice to hear a first hand account of their dedication to craftsmanship. I have one setting here that just arrived from being chambered for a 22brx. Had to wait sooo long for the barrel to get to my smith. I'll soon know how it shoots. It'll be my first Brux.

I have a Brux 308win that is out shooting 1 6br barrel and 2 6brx barrels at 400yd. I have a new FTR rig full custom on the way that will ware a Brux in the end. After that all 3 current 6mm barrels will be switched to 6mm Brux barrels! I LOVE BRUX BARRELS!!

I have two Brux barrels and love both of them.
Both are chambered in 6.5 x .284

...sort of sounds like a cult :)

They do excellent work!
