Just thought some here would be interested to know that Randy Robinett @ BIB Bullets now his 6mm 108gr. boat tail bullet available to the general public. This bullet is perfect for the popular 1:8 twist barrels.

You can read a bit more about it on the BIB website under the New Products tab.

I know Randy is a sponsor here, but has anyone shot this bullet? Can you give me any first hand results? My 6br is ready and I'm looking for the right bullet to shoot.

Does he have stock availible to the general public yet?

Like his website says 'as of April 21, 2009 he is accepting orders'.
E-mailed him a week ago and he was ready to release them.
If I remember correctly, minimum order of 250 is $91.50 plus shipping.

Gary.

If they didn't shoot well, you can bet the farm Randy wouldn't be making them. To find out about the availability, a call to the good RG would be in order.

Forgive me, for I have doubted you.... I will be more careful in the future..... :nono:

A call will be placed today.

P1: Believe me, anything Randy brings to market has been thoroughly wrung out. ;) His testing regimen is extremely broad based and utilizes different shooters, different chamberings, etc.

Good shootin'. :) -Al

I emailed Randy the other day, and the first batch of 108's has sold out. I placed my order for 250 so I could do some testing. He said they should be shipped in a week or two. I have never dealt with him before, and he was perfect to do business with. Very nice, prompt email return. Clear and precise instructions on payment. Even though he did not have any 108's on hand, he set my expectations accordingly, and I LOVE when I'm told what WILL happen... and not just telling me what I want to hear.

Kudos,so far) to Randy at BIB bullets. If their product is as good as the service I have received so far..... I'm going to like them a lot.

All of your kind assessments are appreciated - well, all except Al's he got me in deep doodo - again! ;)

One clarification is in order:
minimum order of 250 is $91.50 plus shipping
This price INCLUDES shipping.

Thus far, the BETA Lot have proven their worth. This bullet is not going to be for everyone - it was not designed to have the HIGHEST BC, but rather, an adequate BC,In the REAL World, a G1 BC somewhere between .51 and .52), and, hopefully, a design which can, as with FB bullets, be reproduced with uniformly repeatable precision - not only within a Lot, but from Lot-to-Lot. With FB designs,UNIFORMITY is relatively easy to achieve: only time, and people willing to risk some cash will tell if the abbreviated BT/tangent ogive design facilitates the type of uniformity for which BIB bullets are noted - this will require several Lots . . .

Over the last four days,we have been experiencing some 'provider' issues - it's probably best to call with questions/orders. I will get ALL of the e-mail answered, but it may take several days - thanks to AL, Paul's generous news story, and this forum, there is a LOT of it! ;) Thank you all. Good shootin'! RG

Randy and Al, I was curious as how your results stack up against the 108 gr Berger bullets. I have been shooting them in my 6 BR and they shoot great. The Lapua and Hornady a-maxs didn't do very well at all - because of the Krieger barrel. But, Randy, I know your bullets and have peppered the countryside with your 118 gr 30 caliber bullets There is something really special about them. If your bullets shoot as good as the Bergers do, then your 108's have got to be awesome. Randy I'll take 250 and give them a try. I will place my order on Sunday or Monday after this weekend's shoot.
