New BAT Action...MELONITE??

Wanting some feedback if possible for a new action that will be ordered. Currently have a couple of BAT MB action bench rifles. Looking to order another for 6.5x47 build and wondering if I should opt for the melonite BAT offers. Haven't had any concerns on the current SS actions I have, other than making sure they are lubed properly...so I guess is there any feedback on whether the optional Melonite is worth the expense.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have one. When ordering my B action, I ask for the fastest, slickest action they had. I was told this is it.

My only concern is with the firing pin installed the lower part of the housing drags against the action.
It has not worn in. Lube and/or moly has not helped.

Hmmm...that's interesting. Have you contacted BAT to explain?

I have a little time to change the order...just wondering if I should have the Melonite treatment done, or just stick to the stainless finish

I have two stainless BAT MBs on my F-Class rifles, and just received an HR that has been melonited.

The HR hasn't been used yet as I'm still waiting for a barrel, but my initial impressions are very good. The finish is gorgeous and everything I've read indicates that it will be very durable.

If melonite proves to be as beneficial as reputed, any future BATs I might order will be melonited. Time will tell.

Beside barrels I have had a couple bolts done. They are very slick and wear better.

Melonited 3 of my actions: love it. BATs gall very easily and melonite should eliminate that issue.

You can eliminate MMI Truetek lack of FFL for actions, but will do barrels through Rock Creek.
