New B&C 2094 Stock.

Right now I'm kind of like a kid watching the NORAD "Where's Santa" video just before Christmas.

My new B&C stock left Florida last Friday and by my best guess it's somewhere around Kansas, due here on Friday.

Would like some input on this stock from those who have some experience with it. I'm going to be installing a Remiington 700 SS 5-R Milspec in it and know ill most likely have to relieve the barrel channel so the barrel floats properly.

What of the action and "bedding block". Do B&C action blocks fit the action well or is a skim bedding required to hold the action properly? The block on the Factory H-S Precision stock, in a word, sucked. After a few dozen rounds it was clear that it wasn't contacting the action evenly so I had to install some pillar shims and re-bed just like a standard wood stock.

What else will need attention with the B&C Stock or is it pretty much as they say, a "Drop In" for the Remington actions?

Am anxious to get it installed as I desparately need a stock with LOP and Cant adjustment. My body just didn't come in a "standard model" 8)

i personaly would just plan on bedding it right from the get-go...i have never seen an aluminum bedding block that holds the action like a good bedding job does...not any fault of the stock maker or the action maker...but it is just simply impossible to make an aluminum bedding block to fit an action...theres just no way...unless B&C had your specific action in hand when they cut the aluminum. just my opinion though

It appears that you are ordering from the same place I order for my SA Savage rifles.

I always epoxy bed mine from the recoil lug back, skipping the sides of the magazine area, then only at the rear, minus the tang area, leaving .010 clearance at the tang.

You can bed the all the way back at the rear in your case with the Remington action.

As I see it, you want full contact front and rear, with no stress due the stock`s "out of the box" irregularities as delivered. Afterall, the stocks are manufactured as a mass produced product. Human error does tend to creep in and can be termed Murphy`s Law. ;)

YMMV

Regards,

Scott

That's the same stock I have on my 700. I am replacing it to save weight. I have enjoyed it. I replaced the cheek piece and recoil pad to save weight, but it wasn't enough. I will be selling mine soon.

I ordered one about 2 years ago. There was alot of talk about actions sitting crooked in the channel due to factory recoil lug. I have an aftermarket recoil lug and it was still pretty crooked so i didnt want to bother so i sent it back
