New 6x47 Lapua build success.

Hey Guys,
Thought i'd share a pic of my first two kills with the new 6x47 Lapua build. Took these two Yotes with the 85g Nosler Partitions that I have loaded for deer hunting. I think i'm going to love this rig!

6x47 Lapa... I just love it !

One very acurate rifle. I used Berger 115 VLD's for deer (mv3030) and Berger 88g FB for fox (mv3300). From last May to this September it has dropped 104 foxes, but nothing last month, as I guess we must have eventually run out of foxes :-)

God I love that rig.
Im a south paw tho.
That caliber and suppressor would be a dream for me. Especially in the people's republic of Illinois! :)

I have been thinking about a build on the 6 X 47L myself, but after asking some questions about it I received PM's about the lack of accuracy that some were getting and others saying accuracy was great!
That doesn't put a lot of confidence in me!

However I really don't know since I have never had one!

115's? How fast are you twisted?

I have a 7.5 on it's way for those heavies......I didn't think it would hurt, maybe keep me from an edge? Just curious.

Hi jwcrabb, that looks like some great shooting.

I was wondering if you could take the time to tell how your rifle shoots? A lot of people here think that the 6x47L is a waste of effort !
I am not in that camp because it makes no sense!

Anything you have to say would be very much appreciated.

TAJ45,
Bryan Litz studied that concept in his latest book and concluded that the faster twist does not hurt accuracy or velocity. Any body correct me if I'm wrong. It exploded a popular and long held myth for me. I will be getting 7 twist barrels for big bullet 6s from now on

My 6.x47 Shot .750 average which many would call good some were in the .250 range.
When I made it a Dasher it shot in the .350 range some in the .100 . My ES and SD were half of 6x47 with the same speed. Larry

I would build another 6x47 L in a heartbeat! I love mine. I have a 28" Bartlien barrel, Rem 700 and McM stock i use for Fclass. It shoots in the .3 for me off a bipod @100 yards. My matches run around 780 or so. Which, if a person with better abilities was shooting, they could do better. My next build will be a lighter barrel and shorter barrel for Field type matches. I have had very little trouble with mine. It has shot every 105grn bullet very well.

I know a guy who shoots a 6x47L in mid range F-Open and flat out drills it. The round seems to shoot really well.
