New 6mm

I am going to build a new 6mm of some variety. I would like some guidance on which to do. I've had 2 different 6br's and a 6x47L in the past. I really want to keep it simple so I'm thinking 6br again. The fire forming just seems to be a PITA. Am I giving up that much more on accuracy by not going to one of the improved varieties? Please respond quick because I'm ready to do something in the next day or so.

Do the 6....( wait for it )....Creedmoor. Lapua is making small pocket brass for it and there is a LOAD of info. on it out there already....

Regards
Rick

If you like easy, then the 6BR is the one. Along those same lines, if Lapua doesn't make brass for it I don't want it. Soooo, I too am considering a 6 Creedmoor.

What are the advantages of the 6 creed? I have shot the 6.5 creed but it was before Lapua started making brass. Is lapua making a 6mm brass or do you neck down? BTY, this will be used for mid-range F open rifle.

Buy hydro formed Dasher brass, easy. I've shot about all the 6's, SLR, Creed, XC, Comp match, X47. These 2 Dashers I had built this summer do everything any of the mentioned will do. I'm so impressed I've spent some time banging a full size ipsc at 1600 yards with mine, in wind.

I have a 6mm Grinch - 6.5 Grendel necked down to 6mm and fireformed to a 40 degree shoulder.
I've done lots of load development with this cartridge and my last was 28.8 gr H4895 on an autoloader.
Berger 105 Hybrid Target, CCI 450, Lapua small pocket, 0.0130" jump. Barrel is a bull contour and I think a Shielen. Reamer by Manson and all put together by Hogstooth Precision in VA.
Rifle shoots 1/4" groups all day but it's doing it at MV 3127 and an SD of 6-10.
No signs of pressure I can tell. This seems hot for this bullet wt in a Grendel sized case!
Anyone else have experience with this cartridge?

You mentioned mid range....6BR, 6.5 X 47, 6DASHER, 6XC, CREED....go for it, they all shoot!
I own a little bit of all of them and currently building a Dasher! I hope it works as well as 47 and br!
My favorite to shoot is br but won more matches with 47

Build a 6 BRX. I have been shooting a pair for 10 or more years. Simple to fireform, just load a bullet long and go bang. Will shoot in the ones with some zeros and a few low twos. Its competitive from 100 thru 1000 yrs. Good barrel life and easy to tune.
