New 6MM BR Cooper

Hi all,

Cooper Firearms is building me a 1-10" twist in their Phoenix model. This rifle will be for varmints and target shooting.

Any bullet recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Do you happen to know the dimensions of the reamer they are using? I've considered ordering this same rifle from Cooper but I think I would like to supply my own reamer.

I would certainly try the 80 grain Nosler ballistic tips and the 87 grain V-max. I assume you plan to use it for varmints. I would try the 70 grain ballistic tip varmint bullets too. I'd really like to know if the 95 grain Sierra match bullets would shoot in it. Keep us posted when you get some results.

Otter,

Sorry, I don't know about the reamer but I'm told they chamber it to NORMA specs. If I can find out I'll post it.

I just got my Cooper M22 MTV 6BR with a 10 twist about 3 weeks ago. My initial load work with 95 gr BIB and both Varget and N-135 looks really promising. I will also be working on 80 gr Bergers.

Good luck with yours!

Scott

Can't believe people still buy Coopers after their large donation to the OBama campaign who made no secret about being anti-gun.

John,
I have bought a couple of coopers, the last one was just about the time labomba lied his way into the white house and I had no idea they donated to the left wing cause. Do you have a site to verify that? I am a hard core Conservative Constitutionalists and refuse to support L/W anything, I sure hope your wrong.
Liberalism is running rampant!!!!

There is a Cooper MV 6mm Br with a 45x Leupold Competition scope for sale on GunBroker for $2035 - Buy it Now. Auction # 225302436. Says excellent bore with light handling marks. Light handling marks are easily removed by wet sanding with Step Saver neutral. The scope is probably worth $750+ used.

I bought a new Cooper Varminter in 6mmBR three yrs ago. It has 1-8" twist, a .270 neck and handles 105 gr. Hornady very well. With Norma brass, light neck turning is necessary.

Hay Guys, Cooper rifles was sold to the owner of Wilson Barrels a couple of years ago. Dan Cooper is long gone( he was the Obama Lover) so there is no reason to bad mouth Cooper rifles or bocotte them .NOW!!!! THEY MAKE A GREAT RIFLE AND THEY ARE PRO GUN!!!!!!

I inquired about this one several weeks ago and was told it was a 1-10 twist (stamped on the side of the barrel) and the s/n indicated it was made 7-1/2 years ago.

hmmmmm

For any Cooper Fans. They are going to have (2) One Shot Shoots this year. (1) in Momtana and (1) in the State Of Maine. They will be giving away (5) oil paintings and a new Cooper Rifle at both shoots. For more information go to Cooperfirearms.com Both these shoots are limted to 40 shooters each so sign up early.

I had a cooper varmit 22 in 22-250 back some years ago and was real happy with it.
several friends have had a few of em in all kind of different calibers.
I really like them and would own another and now that you can get a 6BR in 10 twist with a 26" barrel,Im real interested in how they are going to shoot,I hope you fellows who have the new 10 twist coopers post how the chambers are and how well they shoot, they are some very beautiful rifles, Im think n a classic sporter in 10 twist.....
I read some time ago that dan cooper was gone, Im i not sure what went on there,i do think its kind of ashame, after all he had some great vision and created some great rifles, so maybe there were other hands in there that made him do the things you here about.
there are allways two sides to a story and i will think maybe other things forced him to go the way he did,Its still an american gun co and they still make fine rifles and i would not hesisatate to buy one.
